Why is a SteadyTracker better than just using a MonoPod?
A monopod is not balanced in all the axis If you take a monopod with a camera mounded on it and do a pan or start to accellerate/decellerate front to back the lighter end (bottom) of your monopod will start moving before the heavy end (camera) and your image will either roll side to side or tilt up or down. With a SteadyTracker it is balanced so when you start and stop walking/running or do a pan the image will not roll or pan unless you want it to.

Why is a SteadyTracker better than a GlideCam 4000 ProTM and GlideCam 2000 ProTM?
In looking at the GlideCam it requires 2 hands to do a tilt, roll or dutch since they are fully gimbaled. Using just one hand with a GlideCam you can only do flat and level shots, no Dutch, no Roll, no Tilt Up/Down.

Why is a SteadyTracker better than a Steadicam JR?
Steadicam JR is also a fully gimbaled system so it requires 2 hands for any shot other than flat and level.

Why is a SteadyTracker better than a VariZoom FlowPod, FlowCam UltraLite?
The FlowCam UltraLite looks to operate in 2 modes, fully gimbaled so it has the same challenges as other fully gimbaled setup and requires 2 hands to do a tilt, dutch and roll or locked so you have no gimbal.
The FlowPod in MonoPod mode will have the same problems as a MonoPod. The FlowPod in FreeStyle mode is also going to have the same problems as other fully gimbaled setups .

Why is the SteadyTracker better than the one I can build out of $15 of pipes and parts?
There are web sites out there that will tell you how to build something that works something like a SteadyTracker. Remember your time is money, the time to go get the parts, the time to put it together, the time to fix it. Also look and presentation does matter! The SteadyTracker is cool and professional looking and draws a crowd (potential business for you in the future), think what it would look like with you running around with your camera on top of some pipes?
